The IADCCT Angel In-Service project was established in April of 2020. This community service project was created in the era of our COVID-19 pandemic with a mission to give a ceramic Angel to those so deserving in this time of need.
IADCCT Chapters have stepped up to the plate and some have made this their focus for this past year (2020). This project is intended to be on going.
The process entails creating ceramic Angels and then distributing them to healthcare workers. In fact, we are now going beyond that initial group to include First Responders as well as Essential Workers. In most cases they are being created from the ground up. Clay slip is cast into an Angel mold, removed then goes through a cleaning process to the kiln for its first firing. After it has been fired in this first bisque stage, the Angel is painted. Then glaze is applied and kiln fired again to complete the process.
Our members then distribute them all wrapped up neatly to those so deserving.
As of February 1, 2021 we have proudly distributed over 9,000 Angels all across America. If you have any questions regarding this program, wish to be put on a distribution, or want to join our endeavor please contact any one of these participating Chapters: ARIZONA GLAZERS CERAMICS GONE WILD DESERT SPICE COYOTES FIRED ART CYBERFLYERS MAHONING VALLEY CERAMIC TEACHERS NORTH COAST CLAY POTS OKLAHOMA IADCCT DREAMCATCHERS PINK FLAMINGO SAGUARO SOUTHERN STARS
